Welcome!

Created by Kelly Dwyer, MNT, BCHN®, Grow Nutrition provides holistic, personalized and intentional nutrition therapy services to individuals, couples & groups.

My story…

Several life changes steered me toward a nutrition career. After more than 20 years working as a journalist, most recently focused on health stories, I discovered there’s a massive unmet need for holistic, science-based nutrition guidance.

Once pregnant with my first child, a longtime interest in nutrition grew. Then began The Great Experiment: testing which healthy foods my two young sons would eat, given the right mix of creativity, patience & crunch. Meanwhile, I began exploring how an anti-inflammatory diet might help me recover from a back injury.

Later, I ran the backpack program for low-income families at my kids’ elementary school, where I helped overhaul our inventory of mostly highly-processed foods to mostly whole foods.

Could the universe speak any louder? Did I mention I love to eat?

In 2014, I started at Nutrition Therapy Institute, a science-based program rooted in both western and holistic nutrition principles, which prepared me to become board certified in holistic nutrition (BCHN®) with the National Association of Nutrition Professionals.

As I continue to learn about nutrition — through formal channels and experiences with clients — I remain fascinated by the simple but incredible impact food can have on our health and well-being.

Today, I consult primarily with individuals in my 1-to-1 nutrition & lifestyle program. I also lead small group nutrition classes for employers and other groups, including Sundial Medical Center, the practice of David Mellman, MD.

I am a member of the Denver Holistic Health Collective, a group of independent holistic health & wellness practitioners whose mission is “to make vibrant health accessible to all,” through collaboration, education, outreach and integrative clinical care.

As for The Great Experiment? My guys are now young adults, and they makes lots of great choices for growing up processed-food world. (My 20-year-old has developed an interest in cooking since leaving home!). And still, nutrition for them, like all of us, is perpetually a work in progress.
